Oklahoma / Mid America FOOLS Fundraiser (Posted 4-3-06) The Oklahoma and Mid America Fraternal Order Of Leatherheads Society (FOOLS) will be hosting its 1st Annual Golf Challenge on Saturday, May 27, at Cimarron Trails in Perkins. The tournament will be a 4 man scramble, starting at 10am. The majority of the proceeds will go to Chickasha firefighter, Destry Horton and family, to help with medical bills. FOOLS Provide An Excellent Truck Class (Posted 1-16-06) The truck class in Colwich provided an excellent learning atmosphere through hands on training (H.O.T.). The props included an actual house smoked up, a flat roof, a pitched roof, simulated windows with security bars, door for forcible entry, and a flat roof building used to simulate top floor ventilation. A variety of departments made an appearance including our brothers from the Lawrence Wheat State FOOLS to make this training successful. CLICK HERE to view FOOLS January Monthly Meeting & TIC Class Gets A Big Turnout (Posted 1-7-06) The January monthly FOOLS meeting reviewed our 2005 year. We have already done a lot in such a short time. 2006 will be even more productive. We have already had one class which had a draw of 48 people (thanks to Rose Hill Fire and Total Fire Group) and a highly anticipated truck class is on the way. We discussed putting together some FOOLS teams to represent us in the Newton Fireman Games and softball team for the smoke eaters tournament in Manhattan. We decided to take a more active role in helping the Fire Museum and Carlos has arranged for a small group to teach the Lawrence Fire Dept. forcible entry.
